4. Fascinating, but this is not really a "hive in a jar".
It is an extension of a hive into a jar.
The bell jar was undoubtedly covered by a box which was only removed for photos.
The bees wouldn't build comb in direct sunlight.

We started BeeKeeping in 2006.
We currently have two healthy colonies in our back yard, and are endlessly fascinated by the collective intelligence of "The Hive".

I may try something like this next Spring.
Excellent for photographs.
