Daily U.S. Casualties

8/10/2003

As of Friday, Aug. 8, 257 U.S. soldiers had died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq, according to the military.

The British government has reported 43 deaths.

On or since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 119 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to the latest military figures.

The latest deaths:


No new deaths were reported.
The latest identification, according to Fort Polk officials:


Army Spc. Zeferino E. Colunga, 20, Bellville, Texas; died Aug. 6 at Homburg University Hospital in Germany, after serving in Iraq; assigned to 4th Squadron, 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Polk, La.
