13. Help Richard Morrison Open hisCampaign Headquarters
I don't live in his district, but I signed up so I could volunteer. I got this email from him today:

Taking on Tom Delay

Hi, I wanted to write and update everyone on the progress of our campaign to unseat Tom DeLay. I'm officially on the Democratic Primary ballot for the nomination and need your support in the primary. It's critical that we build a strong campaign during the primary so we'll be in good position to take on Tom DeLay in the general.

Today I'm opening my campaign headquarters in Richmond Texas. The address is 1116 Morton St, Suite E, Richmond, Texas 77469. And I'm looking for volunteers to help man the office and conduct voter outreach. We'll have an official opening party and volunteer meeting on January 26, at 7pm. To the best of my knowledge this is the first time an opponent of DeLay has opened a headquarters in the district.

Many of you have already signed up to support my campaign, some have contributed your hard-earned dollars. Some of you have met me at a rally or political event. Thank you so much for your support. Thanks to you this challenge seems less overwhelming every day.

This campaign isn't about me, but about you and whether or not you've had enough of Tom DeLay abusing his power and ignoring the interests of the people of District 22. And, as the most powerful man in the US Congress, Tom DeLay's power-mongering and influence-peddling hurts Americans everywhere. You can help in several ways:

1. Please register to vote if you aren't already. Every vote for me from a constituent of District 22 will send the message that it's time for Tom DeLay to leave. Even if you aren't in District 22, every person voting helps create a better democracy and a better country. Texas residents can click the link below to register:

2. Please donate to my campaign. I'm not going after thousands of dollars from corporations who want to buy my vote in Congress -- I want to make this an effort by the people, and every single dollar helps. Remember, it's not only the total amount raised but the total number of people who give to the campaign that matters.

3. Please visit my websites, and learn more about me and what Tom DeLay is doing. When you read the news articles about his deplorable activities, you will be as horrified as I am that this man is allowed to represent us in the US House of Representatives.

4. Please forward this email to your family and friends. Help us get the word out that Tom DeLay's reign of power must end, and it starts here.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and thank you for your support. I believe that together, we can show Tom DeLay the door.

Richard Morrison
