LA: GOP Candidates Promise Unity in Runoff
Advertisements [?]
The four Republican candidates for governor say they will support whichever one of them ends up in the Nov.15 runoff.

""I'll support any Republican that gets into the runoff, but I expect to be that Republican," said former state and federal health official Bobby Jindal.

"We've got to all come together and get behind one (Republican) and move forward for Louisiana," added state Representative Hunt Downer. Downer also discouraged any other Republicans from entering the race. In recent weeks, it has been rumored that businessman Dennis Stine will run for governor as a Republican.

Former Legislative Auditor Dan Kyle and Public Service Commissioner Jay Blossman apparently agreed to the pledge in private, but haven't been specific in their public pronouncements.
