19. My cat is feeling the stress too
She spends most of the day under the bed.

She has a condition that vets refer to as "overgrooming"...grooming becomes a nervous obsession and she has licked all of the fur off of her hind legs and her belly.

She also has a place on her neck the size of a quarter that's down to the bare skin.

Two weeks ago a friend arranged for me to make a free visit to a friend who's a vet.

He gave me some anti-anxiety drops for her, but I can't get her to hold still long enough to take them.

He also gave me ointment for her neck. It started to heal and she started digging again and made it worse. If I try to put more ointment on, she runs under the bed.

Nothing wrong with her appetite, and she uses the box faithfully.

She came out from under the bed a week ago and I was overjoyed. Then there was an incident at the house on Wednesday night and she's been back under the bed ever since, except to come out for food, water, and bathroom breaks.
