72. gasp!!!
Well I certainly didn't expect that kind of answer! I will admit you are right though. I live in a very conservative gung ho Limbaugh area and individually the locals are nice. What i find difficult is their ignorance. One Republican told me that he didn't understand why i was so anti-American. I told I wasn't I am anti the assholes in government. I tried to explain some of the things we have done in the world, Chile for example. He stared at me in complete bewilderment (perhaps he thought Chile was something you ate with a taco) and i had to explain where Chile is, all about Pinochet and so on.
Now of course we have Iraq with people still defending that cretin bush!!! Iraq aside he succeeded in 8 years to turn us into a world wide pariah, detested by all including many allies and led us into bankruptcy. I tried to tell people that the biggest danger we ever faced was bush himself. He took away our liberties, we no longer have rights to a lawyer in many cases, canceled all treaties which might have helped the whole world cooperate with each other and led us into bankruptcy. Terrorists are not the biggest danger we face - it is the enormous debt we have run up with China. All they have to do is turn their bonds and demand payment. Then my friend you will see a depression which will put the 1929 depression to shame. Not to mention horrific inflation a la germany after world war 1.
