8. It all depends on "where" you meet someone
as in online or in person, like at places of mutual interest such as DU or at yoga practice :)

My past-wife and I met online and were together almost 9 years (married a little over seven and a half years.) We really got to know each other online and I always likened it to people courting through the mail a hundred years ago. We didn't meet in person until 5 months after our first meeting and we had been "ourselves" the whole time. Another key point was that prior to our meeting, we had both pretty well given up on finding anyone and we were fine with that for the rest of our lives. Then we met :)

So, keep looking; I'm sure someone will turn up that you are a good match with :)

I agree, too, that this sounds like "rules" for the stereotypical man, but won't apply to all of us, thankfully! :D
