By then we'll know even more about nutrition. Heck, we already know far more than what you can tell from reading a tome about the South Beach diet, a brand which offer nutritional science that's about five years old now. Which is, at least, far ahead of Atkins, but nonetheless. The problem with these brands is that they are behind reality by the time they hit market, and they don't change with the science, with the knowledge that accumulates and is accumulating faster as time goes on.

Nevermind that its time to get beyond the question of "does it work?" There are tons of ways to lose weight. What's more important is the development of lifetime habits that diminish one's likelihood of various illnesses over time. These diets don't address this holistically, though they are now trying to feign it in a very superficial manner.
