18. Most Western art was religious art for centuries
I guess there is a lot of art you can't look at or listen to, if you dislike religious messages. Most of these tell stories that have some universal qualities, however.

I usually respond more to melodies and harmonies, anyways. Some carols are just achingly beautiful songs. Most of the ones I like are the very old ones, of course. I respond to hymns the same way; it is rarely the lyric that moves me, but the melodies and arrangments. They have better bass parts, too.

Most modern pop Christmas songs are both bad and wildly overplayed.
