"That community was enormously important to me," Edwards told about 100 people
Monday while discussing her new memoir at her alma mater, the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.

"It meant that if I couldn't sleep at 3 a.m., there was someone at a
keyboard somewhere else in the world that also couldn't sleep. And they
were there for me," she said.
