13. Hm...
The BoSox could have:

1) The best hitting shortstop in baseball,
2) The best fielding shortstop in baseball,
and 3) The best overall player in the game (with the ONLY possibly exception of one Barry Lamar Bonds).

And you Sox fans DON'T want him? Jesus, people, I'm glad I don't run the Sox:

"Hey, if we suck, they bitch about us!"
"If we do well, but don't win it all, they bitch about us!"
"If we try to make ourselves better, they bitch about us!"

Seriously, I understand that Red Sox Nation has different rules than the rest of sports fandom. But folks, you should not WANT to lose. Rodriguez would make the Sox better. PERIOD. He hits (much) better and fields (much) better than Nomar. I like Nomar. But he weren't no A-Rod.

Manny is a great hitter, but that's all. He can't play the field, and he can't play a full season. A-Rod is the single most valuable commodity in baseball, and y'all would be lucky to have him (especially considering you already have Pedro, Schilling, Varitek, Mueller, Nixon, Wakefield, et. al.).
