I need a cure for swollen vocal cords

I have lost my voice exactly three times in my life. Once I was in a production of Milk and Honey and the stage was over an inch of standing water (theater in room below sea level in Hallendale on the beach). We all got sick and even then I could squeek out enough sound to sing in the chorus, but not my solos. 2nd time was a few months ago when I had to use a nebulizer for alergy induced asthma. 3d time is now. I am again using the freaking nebulizer for bad case of Capt Trips given to me by an adorable bunch of six year old runny nosed, nose picking 1st graders.
My vocal cords are actually swollen to the point that I can not sing anything above an A on the treble staff.

You would think after all these years I would know what to do. But I just never had this kind of problem before. HELP! Any herbal treatment types around who might know what tea I should drink?
