Nicole Kidman to Tom Cruise: "Leave our children out of Scientology"

There's a battle of beliefs between Tom Cruise and his former wife, Nicole Kidman. Tom has angered her by breaking their agreement not to foist either of their religions on their children, Isabella, 12, and Connor, 10. Nicole, a Catholic, is disturbed to learn he's steering the kids into wacky Scientology, something he promised wouldn't happen when they divorced. Friends say Nicole's "blood boiled" when she learned their children are being "home-schooled" in Scientology by Tom's sisters. They say she told him: "I don't care what you do with your girlfriend, but leave our children out of Scientology." Scientologists reportedly hook the children up to "e-meter" devices used to interrogate and relieve them of guilt. Tom's fiancee, Katie Holmes, also a Catholic, is being instructed in the Scientology belief that alien spirits ("Thetans") that once dwelt in volcanos must be driven from the human mind and body. Sources say Katie, like Tom's children, is apparently becoming a believer and has been assigned a full-time Scientology adviser. When she's not studying her new religion, she's trying on wedding dresses, cooing about having Tom's children and saying, "It will be a huge honour for me to do a movie with him."

PREDICTION: What has been an amicable friendship between Tom and Nicole will dissolve in the face of the Scientology row and the kids will suffer as a result.
