There had been running spats between various of the personae on this board, those two included.

Longtime DUer CO Liberal posted that he was taking a break from DU, because he felt that the place had changed, and that he and his wife (thePrincess) had been subjected to a lot of unpleasantness. Some people said that they'd be sorry to see CO leave, and others said that they themselves had been subjected to nastiness by CO and Princess, and therefore would NOT be sorry to have them go away.

In that thread someone (not Sniffa, actually) posted a cartoon picture of a boy riding a whale. The picture had been altered to add a Robin Hood hat like the one in CO's picture.

Everyone knew what it meant. Ask me if you need it spelled out.

The Princess posted a good bye thread of her own, and said that she'd cried over it all. More ridicule and hilarity followed

A few of us objected to the ridicule, and the mods and admins went to work. Little remains of those exchanges.

The Princess, evidently thirsting for revenge, left here and went to post on a site called Conservative Underground -- a site which seems to be devoted to stalking DU, gawd knows why. There she posted that she was a libertarian who had posted on DU because she'd thought it would be fun, but that she felt hurt now, and was therefore henceforth going to play around on the Dark Side for a while. Her husband, evidently, really is a sincere liberal.

The perfidy of the Princess did not escape notice here, and was the cause of much outrage from the same people who had ridiculed her about her weight. Somewhere in all of this, a very popular poster named Sniffa was banned for what the admins say was repeated rule-breaking after numerous warnings. This action has been met with more outrage. The blood on the floor has risen to our knees. Won't you come join us as we tread the crimson tide!
