48. We've borrowed a live trap (like have-a-heart)
it doesn't hurt the animal. We live in a trailer, and have recently trapped, moved and released (far away) a large raccoon. We'd been hearing loud chewing sounds from under the house, and the trailer skirting kept getting loosened/disturbed. (We were afraid it would turn out to be a skunk.)

Unfortunately, I think it had babies (I hope not!) somewhere under the house, up inside the insulation. We still hear occasional chittery noises and there is an awful uriney scent creeping into the house in the rooms right above where we suspect the nest. We're going to go under the house in a day or two and try to find the nest and get rid of it (I hope there aren't babies in it...) and set the live trap again several more times until we're sure we've got everybody out.

Once the underneath of the trailer is rodent free, then I'm setting the trap for the cats, and they're going to the pound. There are three in particular that seem to hang out a lot. They aren't occasional escapees from home, I see them too often. They are either feral, or their owners are rude.

I don't want to shoot/hurt cats, but I might just take a shot at one of the owners (just to wing 'em) if I thought I could get away with it.
