Here's the deal: This feral cat has been roaming our neighborhood for longer than I've lived in Switzerland. We've never really known who The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger's father was; his mom is my mother-in-law's gray cat, though. But my sister-in-law has sworn for years that Ginger's father was this certain feral cat who I'd always seen running away -- never saw his face until a couple of years ago.

In mid-December, he showed up, starving to death, at our kitchen window. He's very old (my MIL thinks 13 or so -- Ginger is 10).

Say hello, please, to Little Old Man. He's blind in his right eye and deaf but now looking a lot better after a few days of Amoxicat and good food. Those of you who know Ginger can tell me whether you see a resemblance.

Merry Christmas DU -- and especially to my "how to deal with a feral cat" mentor! :*

Mid December
