Been feeling very odd indeed lately, and very very late Friday it became too much. When you can no longer sleep because you're not sure you're going to wake up, it's past time to get help. I went to the emergency room, which mercifully was not busy. I thought I was having blood sugar problems, but it was hypothyroidism. So I have to go to a regular clinic tomorrow, or as soon as they can fit me in.
I'm hoping I can fix this with dietary changes. I had quit salting my food decades ago and forgot to start again when I quit eating the regular American high-salt diet and switched to mostly whole foods. (What put me in the emergency room though was quitting my iodine-rich multivitamins a few days before. That and my broccoli addiction.)
I still need to find out too why I'm losing so much weight (30 lbs this year; a total of fifty since 2007, a quarter of my weight). Pretty unusual for hypothyroidism; at least that lets me believe that the hypothyroidism is a new thing.
Thanks in advance for your support.
