1.I've been, for as long as I can remember, plagued with self doubt so extreme that a college counselor once told me I had the lowest self-esteem score she'd ever seen on the battery of psychological tests she'd given me.
2.I graduated high school at the age of 16, from what was (allegedly, at that time)considered to be one of the academically highest rated high schools in the U.S.
3.During the Vietnam war, my draft lottery number was 15, was called in for an Army physical etc, and I spent 8 hours in the induction center before an Army shrink told me " In my opinion, you are unfit for military service" ( what can I say, the man was an excellent judge of character, and BTW, no way was I going to Vietnam; I had all the logistics in place for an escape to Canada if it came to that)
4.I was once asked by the Rolling Stones' sax player if I wanted to replace him for a European tour with another band he was playing with on the side.( they ended up getting somebody else though)
5.Among my college buddies were a Pulitzer Prize winning NY Times reporter, Bill Clinton's Chief of Staff, and the guy that is the author of the words "tough actin' tinactin".
