I never understood why so many of the hits were really just novelty songs, when the ballads were so good.

I Got a Name

One of my worst regrets is that I had a chance to see him in August 1973, in Austin, MN, not that far from where I lived. I passed, even though he was my favorite, and still is. He was gone in less than a month.
