is a great album!!

5 of the 12 songs are covers and all really good ones too. Maybe it could've done without 'Where Have All The Good times Gone?'. However, the way they introduce 'Pretty Woman' with that massive jam 'Intruder' is just as creative as any cover I've heard the band do...not to mention that in a mix it works perfectly when blended with 'Rebel Rebel' by Bowie. Believe me, DJs love bands like Van Halen b/c they keep people moving, which is what's great about their version of 'Dancin' in the Streets'
I agree with what Eddie said about it too -

"It takes almost as much time to make a cover song sound original as it does writing a song. I spent a lot of time arranging and playing synthesizer on 'Dancing in the Streets,' and they just wrote it off as, 'Oh, it's just like the original.' So forget the critics! These are good songs. Why shouldn't we redo them for the new generation of people?'
