Besides losing their last five straight (four of 'em to fucking Colorado) when they still had a chance — four behind Arizona and 1 1/2 behind San Diego in the wild card — they had this horrible 3-11 streak from July 28-Aug. 12 where they were outscored 66-34.
From July 20 to Aug. 12, when they went 6-16 and dropped from first place to fourth, they were something like 6 for 96 with runners in scoring position.
