A Question About Gay PDA

OK, so this is probably going to be the stupidest question you've ever heard but inquiring minds want to know so here goes.

I've been fortunate enough to have had many gay friends over the years and I've noticed that when my gay coupled friends visit there is rarely, if ever, public displays of affection. Now I realize that not everyone is comfortable with PDA's -- straight or gay. It's just that I've noticed this consistently over the last 30+ years with gay couples.

So, do you think this is just coincidence? If not, are gay couples often more reticent to PDA's -- even in a "safe" environment such as my home or around my husband and I?

Should I even be asking this question?
