(although the Nicene Creed predates Luther of course). I am just saying that if you go back to the founder, he certainly never taught the Nicene creed or the Apostles Creed, which I probably still know by heart. I find both of those to be empty, much like reciting something like "I believe that Pierre is the capitol of South Dakota, and that the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776 and written by Thomas Jefferson..." Even if true, how much does it change the way the believer lives? It is quite possible to be a Christian and still believe that the churches have gone astray in many ways. In the same way that Jesus, although he was a devout Jew, believed that Judaism had gone astray.
