161. Walt is the guy who coined the term "Enronomics" WP used it in his book
"The Greatest Sedition Is Silence." and he credited Walt for it. (WP is a Will Pitt, for any newbies)

I didn't agree with Walt on some things. Especially last summer over the Roberts nomination, he said something about how Red-State Dems facing reelection soon should vote for Roberts etc, and that when Dems eventually get power they can nominate someone to counter him and so on. I saw similar arguments like that at the time. Selling women's rights out, essentially for a political strategy that might..I stress MIGHT eventually win back Congress. It was all dubious. I also remember he refused to vote for any candidate in the GE who voted for the Iraq war resolution. I didn't agree with that, as I think voting for somebody who is running against Bush trumped any supposed moral stand. But, Walt is a smart guy, some people didn't like him, I never really had any run ins with him or anything. Just a few replies to comments that I didn't agree with. Each time we were civil and articulated our positions pretty well, that I recall. That's too bad, I respected him a lot.
