69. History was made tonight at the Oscars. Rap won.
I cheered. The movie Hustle and Flow was incredible and the scene where the music came together was powerful. The song should have won and I'm glad it did.

It's winning also slapped mainstream America across the face - and that too was a beautiful thing. Sometimes, it's the only way to open doors in society - to smack down barriers as hard as you can.
People cheered Clooney's remarks about being the "first" and "out of the loop" well...that tradition was continued tonight. Hollywood honored Rap with an Oscar. Yeah, Grammy's are nice - but it's not an Oscar.


I love Johnny Cash and I grew up listening to the Carter family. :)
