55. No one really scared me
At least not actively.

Mostly, I'd guess, it was that I never saw any display of affection between my folks. None. Not even a hug. And they didn't sleep together after I was about 10.

Once on my mom's birthday when my sister and I were little, we were imploring my dad, "Kiss her, daddy, kiss her!" He went to do it and she said, "Herman, stop it!"

That kinda thing leaves a mark, I guess.
