I am hooked on Carnivale, although it seems to be very slow coming together. I am going to toss out a few questions and ideas, and would like your answers and opinions.

1) Justin's red-headed sister isn't his sister. She said on the last episode that she had taken care of him SINCE they arrived in America. Hmmmmm....so who was the little girl in Justin's river dream sequence? Could it have been (in my best Church Lady voice) Apollonia?

2) What's the deal with Lodz and Samson? Who is management? Who is Henry Scudder?

3) Is Sophie pregnant? What's the significance of that?

4) Who is Ben's father? Could it be that Apollonia is his mother, thus making him and Sophie siblings?

5) A prophet in her/his own house. WTF does that mean?

6) Is Jonesy's affair with the married stripper important in the central plot or is it just a soap-opera-ish addendum to keep us watching?

7) Personal opinion: I've been watching this thing since the first episode. If something HUGE doesn't happen tonight, and if all my questions aren't answered in this and the final episode, I will be one angry viewer. At the same time, the show is addictive--I not only watch it on Sunday night, but also enjoy watching the reruns throughout the week...you always see something or hear something that you passed off as inconsequential during the first viewing. I don't think a series has ever been so rich with symbolism as Carnivale. At the same time, since I know nothing about Tarot and little about biblical symbolism, I feel like an inadequate viewer...this show was created for a very high-brow crowd.

So, are you watching Carnivale tonight? Be glad when 6 Feet Under's new season starts! ;-)
