1. Such a tempest, over little to nothing
I think it is not a big deal, it will be a silly amusement for kids and adults who remember the show, and Salem gets a rattty park renovated as part of the deal. And it will create revenue, people will take the exit just to take a picture in front of it, and maybe buy an ice cream or a snack while they are visiting, and maybe stay to see a few other sights.

Like it or not, Americans like a little schtick. At least the thing is bronze, not massively sized, and not plastic. I think they oughta put up a Flying Nun in Puerto Rico, too, while they are at it. And if and when it runs its course, they can always take it down.

What the hell, it's not like they're gonna mount the thing on the Witch House! The Salem "witches" need to get a grip--towns need revenue, especially with Mitt the Shit in power in the corner office of the State House, and they can either deal with (or avoid) a nine foot statue in a nicely renovated, once bedraggled park, or enjoy yet another tax hike for town services. Of course, they won't end up paying those huge taxes, as most of them aren't on the high-income end of the scale...

I always found that show amusing, but I liked the first Darrin better!
