13. Why not just step outside for a while, and leave the door open?
And i've got an idea.

Persuade the admins, those three guys, to allow you to start a "group" for DUers who've been here since, I dunno, 2001 or 2002. Exclusive group for longtime DUers, with very minimal mod. presence. (wouldn't need a heavy mod presence if only longtime DUers were all who could post there.

Not a perfect idea, but maybe an idea that could be perfected.

I've quit a few jobs, and now and then, I wonder to myself why I had to quit, rather than take an extended leave. Why burn the bridge, so to speak.

Its not the same here, in this situation, but it is similar.

Don't say goodbye, just "leave" for a while.

DU may not be the same with all the rules, but it won't be the same without you either.

And you probably don't know who the f I am. I used to be nu_duer, but that's probably no help either.

Anyway, that's my reply to your post.

Rethink thins, eh?
