4. Go to their website. These things are very particular.
Take down the PC full model# and serial number before you do.

You need to find out:

  1. How many slots it has total?
  2. How many slots are free (do not currently have memory installed in them)?
  3. Do the chips need to be installed in matched pairs? (i.e.: is your 512MB made up of 2 @ 256MB)
  4. What is the maximum supported RAM


You can find out a lot from the memory manufacturers. They have search tools to help you.
