8. I like it, on the whole.
I like it enough that, after my first stint here in 1993-94, I decided to move back here again in 1999 and have been here ever since. I do miss my hometown of New York and would certainly consider returning there at some point, but honestly, there's not many other cities I'd rather live in -- perhaps I'd also consider perhaps maybe Chicago or Boston or Seattle, or just any place where you can walk or bike to places and don't absolutely have to own a car to get around.

On the downside, SF is not only expensive but also has a major homeless population, especially as you get closer to Market and/or Mission Streets.
