41. Kids as teachers...you can't beat 'em
I've learned more from listening to children than I have from pontificating blow-hard adults with many letters after their names! I never had kids, but I get along with most of them. You all are right, tho, when you say the insufferable ones can be blamed directly on the parents.

It seems to me a lot of parents don't pay real attention to their kids. I work for an airline, and I encourage kids of all ages to come hang out with me and play with the computers (they can't hurt anything or cancel a flight, no worries!) and most kids love to talk and tell me all about themselves. I mean, to excess! Makes me think they're not getting an ear at home.

Bottom line, kids are great. You all were that age once (probably more recently than I was) so try to remember how hard it was to articulate what you thought, to be taken seriously, to even elicite basic respect from adults. And adolescence is just pure torture. You gotta be sympathetic for anyone going through that and give them some leeway.
