3. My oldest was born Dec. 31st
When she was younger, it was a hoot... she thought Dick Clark on the television, crowds of people, fireworks and other New Year's fun was because of her birthday. When she hit about 5 or 6 that changed -- she hates her birthday. There's no school... no parent in their right mind wants their child at a party on New Year's Eve (unless it is a slumber party -- then we have parents begging us to invite their children).

It's a sucky time to have a birthday... but lots of people do. (My nephew's day is Dec. 28... my best friend is Dec. 24... an uncle is Jan. 1)
