28. Keep your chin up
I had to have teeth removed top and bottom two years ago, due to not visiting a dentist until age 18. My parents did not have dental insurance for us when we were kids, and I finally took myself to the dentist once I got a job. Thus began 20 years of trying to correct the years of neglect. I got the bottom extractions, 4 of them, and I wore what's called a flipper for 4 weeks. Then I had a permanent bridge put in that looks completely natural. Soon after, I had my top four teeth removed, since my mouth was too small and my periodontal disease too advanced for orthodontics. A permanant bridge was put in the top as well. I now have a beautiful smile, and it has taken me a while to get used to smiling, but I love being able to smile without shame. You will be so amazed what it does for your self-esteem. As for school, I have been going part time for 4 years to get an A.A.S., and have 10 months left to go. KEEP GOING!! Don't let anyone or anything stop you from getting your education; it is the key to freedom. Only you can change your situation, and the most important thing I have discovered is that belief in yourself and your ability to succeed can take you very far in life. Good luck corarose!:hi:
