If it gets any worse, you'll see it extend beyond the combat support arena. Already, it is commonplace for someone in an administrative support job to be doing TWO or even THREE jobs, because the unfilled billets in these slots are just not gonna get filled any time soon. As a consequence, the paperwork gets sloppy, too, along with everything else.

It would not surprise me if they start hauling back antique desk jockeys, or oldies who are too decrepit to be operational, to fly those desks, while the fitter types go back to the sandbox.

I was down Pentagon way a few months back, and damn, they aren't taking the physical readiness shit too seriously of late--there was more heft and girth in that joint than I have seen in decades!! 20 percent of the enlisted component are CAT IVs (not bright, to be kind). The quality is on a downward glide slope, and there's no relief in sight...
