13. Not toxic, but certainly heat-retentive
The projections are that the melting frozen bogs in western Siberia (an area about the size of France & Germany combined) will release about 80 billion tons (more or less) of methane.

Of course, since methane is about 26 times as efficient at trapping heat as CO2 is, this will be the equivalent of about two trillion tons of CO2 entering the atmosphere in the space of a couple of decades.

Or, as scientists sometimes say, "Oops!"
