27. Could all the conspiracy kooks be vindicated?
Does one need a tinfoil hat when they're actually right? Even from the tiny scattered bits that end up in respectable sources, it should be clear to anyone that there is a conspiracy and it's been going on for at least 25 years, not just since ** started squatting at the White House.

We have a clique of war profiteers, oil barons, Armageddon fanatics, and gangsters running this country. No one (at least anyone reading DU) would disagree with this. Their plan is to destabilize the oil producing regions of the world so they can swoop in and make all the profits out of that there black stuff in the ground and a little extra under-the-table cash moving drugs and guns. If people who aren't rich or powerful happen to die as a result of these transactions, it's just algebra to them as they manipulate the totals to say whatever they want them to.

Because their criminal activities in the Middle East happen to coincide with the goals of certain fundamentalist Christians (namely the destruction of the entire planet so they can get raptured away while everyone else burns), they have used religion as a crutch. Very few of them are even religious at all and even fewer actually belong to the denominations their act is geared towards. While using Christianity for their purposes, they have spread racism, sexism, and homophobia throughout the world. They're not even particularly racist, sexist, or homophobic themselves(they just hate everyone), but as long as they can convince people to eschew progressive ideas because some "undeserving eaters" would be helped by them, they win.

Most of our mainstream media is owned and all of it is supported by those who profit from bloodshed and suffering. 99% of what is published and broadcast in the US (and smaller but significant percentages in other Western nations)supports corporatist and fundamentalist views. News agencies just parrot whatever anyone in power hands them. The entertainment content we receive is also mostly supportive of these goals, but because there are dirty words and breasts involved, the entities producing them are called the "liberal media". A few token progressives (Stewart, Olbermann, the AAR roster, etc.) are allowed on the stage and can't push too hard because they'd suddenly come down with an attack of "low ratings".

There is no statute of limitations on treason or murder. If Fitz can crack through the lies that led us to Gulf War II, he can open up the whole can of worms about 9/11, Gulf War I, Somalia, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Panama, and any other place where Americans have died due to sexed-up intelligence. Not sure what the statute on election fraud is, but he might be able to nail them on 1980 as well as 2000 and 2004.

The Plame affair alone should be massive as all the piggies squeal to avoid being strapped to a gurney (which, since I don't support capital punishment, don't even think should happen to them. I'd hope a progressive President would commute those sentences to life without parole.) and everyone goes down. Fitz has the power to dig deeper. If he has the will to do so, it'll make Nuremberg and the Truth Commission look like small-town traffic court.
