Our journamalists doled out "fair"-sized soundbites on the evening news that gave the impression that both candidates scored similar rhetorical points in their stump speeches and other scheduled appearances. Those who actually heard the speechs could tell right off the bat who was actually connecting, and who was playing to a hand picked crowd (and often not even a crowd.)

Blame who you like, but I blame, mostly, the shitty media for screwing Kerry. He kicked ass, but few reported it.

Until the debates, of course, the one and only time when the candidates had to fend for themselves. But not to worry, the media spun those for Bush so's not to make him look too much a fool.
