Is It Time for a Democratic "Wild and Crazy Guy"??

Every now and then a politician or a political situation comes along that develops a life of it's own (I remember an unknown, Georgia politician who ran around knocking on doors and saying, "Hi, I'm Jimmy Carter and I'm running for President of the United States"--his approach was so unique and refreshing, he ended up in the Oval Office!). Right now we have a citizenry that's in an ugly mood (oil/war, etc.) and it's going to get worse.

The people rate us Dems even lower than their disgust with Bush. But why not?? We are the same old, same old. What if an outspoken (and NOT back down) kind of guy blasted onto the scene this fall?? The people are looking for a way to piss on this war but cannot admit to themselves that they were mind-washed morons who got sucked into this losing situation. Pumping the words, "the son of a bitch lied to us" gives them an escape route. Pointing fingers at Bush, blaming him and republicans for everything from oil prices to your kid's lousy grades to your ingrown toenails and never, ever backing down from that position even under withering repuke attacks, might just (gasp) WORK!! Sure as shit nothing else has and won't--in fact, these people are putting me to sleep and I'm at least interested!!! And you know what?? When someone like that catches fire and the public starts to think of them as "their kinda guy", it's amazing how the donations from the big boys/girls start rolling in. So while the "basically in bed with the republicans" real pros craft their strategies for '08, may I suggest that someone who has nothing to lose blast on to the scene and do a "I'm mad and I'm not going to take it anymore and I need us all to get together and go tell the assholes we have had enough"!!! (Perhaps the people are getting as sick of these pricks with broomsticks up their rectums as I am).
