It is much, much more. It is the entire essence of their being and their religion. Unlike the Christian bible which is vieweda s a book written by men about events, the Quran is viewed as the exact word of Allah, copied down verbatim.

There is a VERY big difference between the way Muslims view the Quran and the way Christians view the Bible.

I would suggest that you research this a little more and understand that although the detainees are people, in the eyes of other Muslims the world over, the desecration of the Quran is much more important than those few hundred detainees.

You have to understand the drastic cultural differences before you can say that desecration of the Quran should be ignored.
