Whichever specific document Levin was harping on about had only been sprung on Galloway today, and only a copy at that, so while I agree with you that Galloway can be certain it's bullshit, without checking it first and being certain it's forged and not some strange (but incredibly unlikely) confusion, stating under oath that particular document was definitely forged could have badly misfired. Then the story would become Galloway the liar who just says all the evidence is forged.

He had to suspect traps laid out, and the way Levin was pressing that particular point on that specific document was whiffy.
