I come from an area in North Texas that is rife with fundies. You are right, the Southern Baptist church was formed during the time of segregation to keep blacks from attending church with whites, so expelling Democrats is not a stretch for them. These are the heart and soul of what is Bush, I promise you. Wonder what the blue dog types who attended that church felt as their brothers in ideology just expelled them?

I'm sure the liberals of the church were gone long before this horrendous display of fascism. Well, most of 'em.

The comments on this thread that this is the beginning of a holy war are probably not far off of the mark. The more Bush goes down in the polls, the freakier these people are going to get. They control the government, now, and there is nothing that will stop them from advancing their agenda on the people...whether you like it or not. The more we resist BushCo, the more fascist they get, until the oppression is so great, the people wake up.
