A recent Harvard study indicated that 50% of bankruptcies were due to medical expenses, whatever the reason. 3/4 had health insurance. You are spouting Republican lies.

Credit card companies are evil empires. You can make a payment that arrives the day it is due and you will still be charged late fees. Banks are also part of the evil empire. My bank is merging with another (again). With my old bank, there were no minimum balance requirements, nor fees for not maintaining them. With the new bank there are. Fortunately I can vote with my feet. I found a new bank that does not charge those fees.
