I'm not sure why else they would even do such a study. although I think there is legitimate debate over whether the IQ tests used are biased towards one race or another. the book wasn't written by total quacks, it was written by Harvard psychologists if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure I would apply the term "junk science". Although they concluded differences in IQ scores among races, I don't think they were able to prove how much of that difference is genetic/environmental based (but I think they took a guess). Also, I don't think they are able to "prove" that IQ is a perfect measure of intelligence, or if its just a measure of a type of intelligence. Athletic performance is a different matter entirely because it is perfectly measurable, especially in track and field.
