Ask the Albigensians, the Cathars, the Catholics and Protestants of the 16th and 17th centuries.

"can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs" is an apt analogy. If deer were to take up communism it might lead to peace in the forest, but any ideology adopted by men seems to lead to war.
