This actually happened in January, but everytime it comes up in the paper it just makes me sick inside. Basically the man argued with him, refused to go outside, and he killed him.

The man was not even wanted, had done no wrong. The deputy wanted to talk to him about his nephew. He crossed the deputy, held up part of a table leg or clothes tree, and he died for it.

The deputy was in no danger at all. He just felt too powerful. This was at least his second offense. He was cleared, he is still working as a deputy.

This is what our country is becoming. This should be on the national news, but it won't.

Killing of Willie Belcher Unjustified
http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2003308160326

SNIP...."Willie died for nothing." Trigger-happy law enforcement has taken another life in Polk County. This killing is, in my opinion, the most unjustified we have seen.

A Polk County deputy sheriff stood in front of the home of Willie Belcher and demanded that he come out. He had no arrest warrant, no search warrant, no other official documentation. The deputy was quoted as saying to a messenger, "You tell him to get out here or I'll put his ass in jail." Belcher refused. A short time later. the deputy entered the home and killed Willie Belcher in his living room. "A man's home is his castle," but perhaps not in Polk County...."END SNIP

Willie Belcher was 41 years old, and he worked hard as a roofer. He did not deserve to die that way. This deputy is still working.

:-(
