4. Put ourselves in their place
Think what we'd feel or do if an invading army stormed through our homes, killed our kids, and generally wrecked havoc with every thing we hold dear? America has invaded Iraq under false pretenses and made a complete mess of the country. How can they possibly ever respect not to mention ever "like " us? The British half of my family--very elderly members--who lived through world war II still cannot forgive the Germans. The other half that experienced the Japanese invasion of China and S.E. Asia hated the Japanese till their dying days long after the war ended. Believe me Iraqis too will hate Americans much longer than whatever they hated about Sadam Hussein after what we've done to them.
