Nye was sincere but simply wrong. As for those historians who debunked the "Devil Theory", you can read Edward Buehrig, Ernest May, Arthur Link or Robert Osgood. Arthur Link is especially good as he specialized in Woodrow Wilson and is very readable. These authors themselves have been debated and soem of thier ideas are no longer in vogue, but historians of WWI and the US have long since moved beyond the "Devil Theory." If you wish, I'll supply specific titles when I get the chance.

BTW, as I noted above, this doesn't mean that Bush's family didn't profit from the war, or that they are not a very sleezy family.
