I'm not so sure that's necessary, or even desirable.

Joe Sixpack may not give a damn about ANWR or UofM or SCOTUS issues, but most ordinary folks understand that things are out of whack. There's a general sense that it's time to bring in some more Dems if only to balance things out. Especially when the office Freepers are so loud-mouthed and obnoxious that everyone else is reluctant to say a word about politics for fear of getting a swiftboat full of B.S. shoved down their throats.

"Yeah, me too," I'll say, "I'm getting really sick of all the angry political ranting."
"Things have just gotten so out of wack that next election I'm going to vote a straight Democratic ticket, just for the sake of restoring the Balance of Power."

Anyway, that's the line I've taken in water-cooler discussion, and it seems to be sinking in.
