16. The art of politics
and social movements is best understood in terms of process. What happens tomorrow is -- and indeed only can be -- a direct result of what happens today. So it is good to look down the road, and to identify goals for the future .... such as the possibility of impeachment .... but we must recognize it as being part of a process .... and in order to move towards that tomorrow, we need to make serious efforts at change -- today.

There is a very real chance that Spiro Cheney will retire ("for health reasons") before the summer comes. The make-up of the House and Senate can change, both in content and direction, before this time next year. Yet these things, which connect to the two things "bugging" you, depend in large part on the actions we take today. And if we want tommorow to be different, it can only happen if we each make changes in that which we do now.
